HERITAGE TOGETHER - KOTAHITANGA | OROKOHANGA POUTAMA

Raising Heritage Awareness & influencing the development of a Heritage Centre 

Taonga Tū | Heritage Bay of Plenty is submitting into the Long Term Plans of TCC, Western Bay of Plenty District Council and Regional Council to assist with:

• The development of a standalone Heritage Education Centre in the centre of the region's leading city Tauranga
• The development of a subregional heritage Strategy

The strategy, influenced by Te Tiriti o Waitangi, is being written in partnership with hapū, heritage organisations, heritage professionals, local govt and other interested parties.

It is anticipated an entirely new industry under Heritage will be created out of the heritage strategy that will add significant value to our region economically, socially and spiritually.
