Katikati Mural Town
Katikati is originally the name of where Bowentown is now.
Katikati Mural Town Katikati is one of the first Irish settlements in New Zealand. Its history is told in its 69 murals dotted around the town. There are guided tours daily throughout the summer where you can learn about the murals and their artists. It is a great place to visit, stop a while, and wander around. View the mural map here

Western Bay Museum Katikati has a very contemporary boutique Museum where heritage takes pride of place and where you will receive a warm welcome and be inspired by Paula and her team. The current exhibition 'Those Who Served'showcases a collection of 25 original pastel charcoal sketches by New Zealand Artist, Geoffrey Fuller. Learn more here

In turn this is encouraging apiary and other related industries into the region.
